In opposition to everyone who oppresses them, they will act as the vulnerable people's allies, advocates, and protectors.

Members of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit, under the protection of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Spiritans), are inspired to advance Justice, Peace, and integrity of Creation (JPIC) by sacred scripture, the social teachings of the church, the charism of our founders, and more than 300 years of practical missionary experience. Spiritans accept our Lord's invitation (Luke 4:18–19) to adopt JPIC as an essential component of our religious missionary activity, inspired by the lives and teachings of Claude Poullart Des Places (1679–1709) and Venerable Francis Mary Paul Libermann (1802–1852). Our Spiritan spirituality is the foundation of our JPIC methodology. We voluntarily choose to support the underprivileged, the persecuted, the impoverished, and those who have seldom heard the gospel. (SRL 12). For us, mission is JPIC because it is through serving the underprivileged that we come into contact with and share the Good News of the Risen Christ, who inspires and upholds our missionary endeavors.

We are more than 2600 lay and avowed Spiritans, spread over more than 60 nations on six continents. Our strategy for JPIC is distinct. We use the JPIC two-pronged model, which consists of justice and charity. Charity include pastoral presence, humanitarian aid, poverty eradication, support for refugees and migrants, and the advancement of a comprehensive and integrated ecology. In justice, we speak up for, stand for, and protect the vulnerable. We work with intergovernmental organizations to develop policies that prioritize people, uphold the rights of minorities and women, fight poverty, support education initiatives, promote peacebuilding, and help rebuild societies that have experienced war.

We provide materials on our website in this part to aid with JPIC animation in your community. You can also use these tools to help your small Christian communities and parishes establish JPIC groups. A just and peaceful world can be realized with the aid of JPIC.
